Autoscopy Project

Multiplicity Assignment

This assignment was super fun to do. The part I had the most trouble with was really at the end. Layering multiple pictures on top of each other and completing the layer mask while adjusting the opacity each time was a fun and smooth process. But when I finally revealed every layer, some layers didn't show up, so I had to refer to the YouTube tutorial to learn how to copy a layer mask and apply it to the topmost layer. What I found interesting was that I had to do that for practically every layer, so each mask was applied to each photo layer. I realized that when I went back to make edits, after being complete, if I wanted to change something, I had to do it for each layer, which was a little tedious. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this assignment. Even with the sun being out and this taking place at 7:30, I was able to make the most of being outdoors. There was some difficulty with matching the lighting in some cases, but I found ways around it.

B&W To Color Assignment (3 Versions)

The color choices I made were random, but I selected the placement of colors based on what I felt worked best from the combinations I created on color.adobe.com. Layer masking with the quick mask tool was undoubtedly the most tedious part of this assignment. Regardless, once I finished that, I was able to quickly and easily manipulate the colors using the color picker tool and had easy access to my palette at the bottom of the page each time. Overall, the project was enjoyable, and I appreciated the process of recoloring the project with a streamlined approach once I got used to it.

Poster Assignment 2

It was interesting to manipulate an image using Photoshop for the first time to produce a more manipulatable  black-and-white  image trace. Once again, while it wasn't the most streamlined or straightforward process, it helped me realize which pictures may work better for this project. So, I had fun choosing one of my favorite pictures and manipulating colors with one of my recent favorite color palettes. I look forward to how this could aid in manipulating future image lighting aspects, making it easier to work with other programs.
